Three Major Lessons from a Major Hero

 How the late, great Vidal Sassoon Made our life (and looks) even better!!

You may know his name mainly from the bottle in your shower, but Vidal Sassoon transformed how 

he world saw women and hair.  Galmour beauty director Felicia Milewicz recalls her friend - a

onetime antifascist street fighter (really?!) - who died in May at 84 years old.  "He was a tough man,"

she says, "but he wore his heart on his sleeve.  Talking about our childhoods, I even saw him cry."  

What she learned:

1. Short hair's hot.
Just as the women's movement ignited, Sassoon cut Mia Farrow's

pixie.  "chic as LBD," says Milewicz.

2.  Don't be too trendy. 
"His looks were so timeless, we'd wear them today," say

Milewicz.

3. Great hair is easy hair. 
His short cuts fell into place, and he created salon products

you could use at home.

Mark Eubanks

My career has had many peaks and valleys as so many often do. I’ve spent the last twenty one years
training and stretching my skill set. I love this industry and feel a special blessing to have experienced
the people and places I’ve seen. Now with this new salon I have a renewed desire to once again reach
inside and fulfill that passion for service and beauty that first inspired me back when I was fourteen
years old. I invite everyone who reads this to come in and give one of our talented team members the
honor to design and create for you a custom look that will make you feel on the inside as good as you
will look on the outside after your visit to our fantastic location.

I have been a hair stylist for ten years and have worked as a Wella educator for three years. Hair is an
organic fabric that you can change, touch, express yourself, improve yourself physically and mentally,
have fun with, and love. I have always been an artist since the day I could hold a crayon, paintbrush,
ball of play dough, and finally, a comb! My medium is hair. I believe that every guest should leave
relaxed, happy, and confident. It is my name on your head so I take the time to tailor the needs of your
hair.

I am 27 years old and have worked as a hair stylist for the past eight years. I always knew I wanted to
do hair and have a strong passion for this industry. I started hair school in Utah where I took part in
many salon competitions. Our salon actually placed first, which made me even more excited to have a
career in cosmetology. I love being able to meet new people, make them happy and challenge myself
daily with new techniques and ideas. I also really enjoy doing hair for weddings; it keeps you on your
toes and is such a fun environment to be in. I love all aspects of doing hair but I tend to do a lot of
highlights and that seems to be my specialty.

Just a decade ago I found myself an assistant branch manager in a marketing company, wondering if
“this was it”. One of my best friends, that happened to be a stylist, would always tell me how she
thought hair was my calling. When my branch shut down, a light bulb went off in my mind and nine
years later I find myself one of the lucky few that actually enjoy going to work. I feel so passionate
about my job as a hair stylist and love helping people look their best. My promise to my clients is easy,
I will always give you all of me.
